Sunday afternoon #19 Texas Tech swept #16 Oklahoma State with a 15-5 win in the series finale.

It marked the first time Texas Tech (24-9, 11-1 Big 12) had ever swept a ranked opponent on the road in Big 12 play.

The Raiders run-ruled Oklahoma State (19-12, 4-5 Big 12) after seven innings of play.

Tech improved their winning streak in conference play to 10 straight games, the fifth-longest streak in school history.

The Red Raiders were led offensively by sophomore infielder Michael Davis who was 3-for-4 with 7 RBI, the most for a Red Raider in a Big 12 game since Gera Alvaraz had seven versus Baylor in 2002.

It was a game that featured 18 hits by Texas Tech.

The Raiders got the majority of their work on the scoreboard done in the early innings, throwing together back-to-back four run frames in the second and third innings. However, Tech scored their highest amount of runs during the sixth inning when they posted six runs.

No. 19 Texas Tech completed the three-game sweep of No. 16 Oklahoma State on Sunday afternoon as the Red Raiders scored nine runs over the first four innings en route to a 15-5 run-rule victory at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium. 
 
The series sweep marked the first for the Red Raiders (24-9; 11-1) ever over Oklahoma State (19-12; 4-5) as Tech has now won each of its last 10 games in Big 12 play, extending already its longest winning streak in school history and the fifth-longest in conference history. 
 
In addition, the series sweep was Tech’s first ever on the road against a nationally-ranked opponent during Big 12 play. Tech had previously swept No. 17 Baylor at home in 2002 but had not won all three games on the road against any ranked opponent since sweeping No. 29 San Diego State to start the 1996 season. 
 
Michael Davis led the Red Raiders offensively, finishing 3-for-4 overall with seven RBI, the most for a Red Raider since Chris Richburg also drove in seven runs at Dallas Baptist on May 1, 2007. His seven RBI were also the most for a Red Raider in a Big 12 contest since Gera Alvarez also had seven on May 19, 2002, against Baylor.  
 
Davis cleared the bases twice, drilling a three-run double to left center in the third inning before plating three runs again with a deep shot to centerfield in the sixth. He previously brought home a run in the second inning off a RBI single that dropped in right center.
 
The Red Raiders scored four runs in both the second and third innings and then unloaded six more in the sixth. It marked the first time Tech had scored four or more runs in three different innings since defeating Dallas Baptist on May 6, 2014. 
 
Cory Raley led off Tech’s big day at the plate with a towering solo home run to open the second inning. The home run, Raley’s fifth of the season, was his first of three hits in the game as he was 3-for-5 overall with two RBI, marking his second multi-hit performance in as many days. 
 
Tyler Neslony and Eric Gutierrez also added multi-hit games, finishing 3-for-5 and 3-for-4 overall, respectively, for a Red Raider offense that totaled season highs for both hits (18) and runs (15). Tech previously snapped its season high for hits with 17 on Saturday. 
 
Kholeton Sanchez and Tanner Gardner both drove in two runs, meanwhile, as Sanchez connected on a RBI single in the second and then looped a run-scoring double in the third. Gardner plated both of his RBI on a two-run single in the sixth.
 
Oklahoma State trailed by nine runs before the Cowboys got on the board with four runs in the fifth and another in the sixth. The run-rule victory was Tech’s first since defeating Oklahoma, 14-4, on April 27, 2014. 
 
Tech starter Ty Harpenau (1-0) picked up the win for the Red Raiders, the first of his career, after allowing three runs off five hits and a strikeout over his 4.2 innings. Ryan Shetter helped get Tech out of the fifth inning before Hayden Howard came on to pitch the final two frames. 
 
Oklahoma State starter Jensen Elliott (3-2) was charged with the loss as he surrendered eight runs off eight hits and a pair of strikeouts. Blake Battenfield entered for Elliot with two outs in the third, the first of three Cowboys who came on in relief. 
 
The Red Raiders return to the friendly confines of Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park on Tuesday night to begin a two-game midweek series against Sam Houston State. First pitch against the Bearkats is slated for 6 p.m. Tuesday.
