Members of the family of murdered toddler, Alyrah Sanchez, 4, said they are frustrated at the possibility of a suspect walking out of jail on bond.

A bond reduction hearing was held for Yvonne Gonzales, 20, in court Wednesday afternoon.

Alyrah’s family went to the courthouse Thursday morning, but found out there was a miscommunication on the timing of the hearing. Family members said they were frustrated they couldn’t be there to represent Alyrah.

“We want to be present for everything about Alyrah,” the toddler mother Andrea Rivera said. “We’re her voice.”

The family said the judge will make a decision to reduce Gonzales bond sometime next week.

“We want justice for her and justice for us would be anything, anything that would keep her behind bars,” Alyrah’s cousin Ashley Hernandez said.

Court documents showed the four-year-old’s dad was at work while Gonzales, who was his girlfriend, watched the toddler.

Gonzales told police that Alyrah choked on some food and called police. EMS took the girl to the hospital where she later died.

Court documents also say there were bruises on Alyrah’s face.

“I mean she was everything,” Hernandez said. “She would’ve become something, she was just one of those little girls and like I said we’re here because we’re her voice and she would want us to do this.”
