Lubbock Police were called to Prosperity Bank in the 100 block of University Avenue Wednesday at about 9:40 a.m.
Police were told three black men wearing ski masks, hoodies and cargo pants robbed the bank. Police said they left possibly in a green Volvo going southbound on University Avenue.
Lieutenant Ray Mendoza said there were three employees in the bank at that time.
“They held two of them in the main office while they escorted one to the back. They took lots of money,” Mendoza said. “It’s still under investigation. We don’t have an amount.”
“All three were armed,” Mendoza said.
There were no customers, only three employees,” Mendoza said. “Nobody was injured.”
Mendoza said the fact that the robbery occurred in daylight, early in the morning does leave some clues.
“That suggests that this is an organized, well planned robbery, knew what time to arrive, what time bank opened,” he said.
Mendoza asked for anyone with information to please call Crime Line 806-741-1000.
