One man escaped serious injuries when he had to put his plane down short of the runway on an approach to the Draughon-Miller Central Texas Regional Airport in Temple Sunday night.
Temple Fire and Rescue spokesman Thomas Pechal told MyCenTX.com they got the call about a plane down in a field near the airport at 10:43 p.m.
He says the pilot reported having some sort of engine trouble and could not make the airport and landed in a field.
There was only minor damage to the Beechcraft Bonanza’s landing gear and propeller.
