OLTON, Texas — On Wednesday, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to a deadly crash on US 70 in Hale County just east of Lamb County line around 10:30 a.m.

Lieutenant Bryan Witt, a spokesperson for DPS, said a pickup truck crashed into a semi truck. He said the passenger in the pickup truck, 79-year-old Eladia Rodriguez, was killed and the driver, 80-year-old Isidro Rodriquez, sustained moderate injuries. 

According to the Olton Enterprise, the pickup truck went over a barbed wire fence on the south side of the highway and stopped in a field after the collision with the semi truck. 

According to DPS, no charges have been filed in the crash.
