Happy Wednesday everyone! It has been a sunny and hot day across the South Plains with highs jumping into the upper 80’s. This afternoon and this evening we will watch for another chance for showers and thunderstorms. The Storm Prediction Center has yet again placed us under the Slight and Marginal Risk Categories for strong to severe storms in the eastern South Plains. Large hail and damaging wind gusts will be the biggest threats. Tomorrow sunshine will return but high temperatures will drop back into the upper 60’s due to our next cold front sliding across the region. This will bring another chance for storms over the next few days. Make sure to keep your umbrellas handy and stay weather aware throughout the week!
