The Lubbock Police Department reports a vehicle and train collided in West Lubbock early Sunday morning.
The accident occurred at 34th Street and Alcove Avenue around 2:30 a.m.
Authorities say the driver of the vehicle appeared to suffer from minor injuries at the time of the accident and initially declined medical treatment
EverythingLubbock.com has learned from family members that Roger Corpus, 34, of Lubbock, was later admitted to University Medical Center two hours after the accident. He underwent emergency surgery for abdominal bleeding and will have a second surgery on Monday.
Lubbock Police say the accident scene was cleared by 6:15 Sunday morning.
The crash is still under investigation.
