A Las Cruces man was killed in a one vehicle accident Monday morning in the Permian Basin.
According to the DPS, the accident occurred along Ranch-to-Market Road 652, approximately 5 miles west of Orla, at 6:25 a.m.
Authorities say a Chevrolet Silverado failed to negotiate a curve and partially left the roadway. the driver over steered to the left and began a right broadside skid across the highway. The vehicle then entered a north ditch and began to roll to the right. The driver was ejected.
Roberto Jose Calzadillas, 30, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, was pronounced dead at the scene. Calizadillas was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
