The Lubbock Area Affiliate of Susan G. Komen® will fund seven community-based grants totaling $190,534 in its current fiscal year of Apr. 1, 2015-Mar. 31, 2016, an increase of $65,570 over the previous year. The funds will provide residents in the 16-county service area with free access to life-saving screening mammograms, access to treatment and services, and support.

Komen Lubbock Area will host a press conference on Tuesday July 7th at 10am in the United Way boardroom, located in the Nelda Thompson Community Building at 1655 Main Street, to provide access to grantees and members of the community who have benefitted from previous Komen grants.

The grants have been awarded to four organizations: Covenant Health Foundation/Arrington Comprehensive Breast Center, UMC Foundation/Southwest Cancer Center, the YWCA of Lubbock, and Inside Out Foundation. Details of the grants will be announced at our press conference mentioned above.
