A Clovis school teacher was found not guilty Wednesday of slapping a student last year.
According to the Clovis News Journal, the incident allegedly occurred at Gattis Junior High School and the alleged victim was a seventh grade student.
Brandi Thomas was placed on administrative last year after the parent of that student accused her of the act.
The mother of the accuser says her 13-year-old son was slapped across the face after making a joke during gym class.
Thomas wasn’t arrested until this past March. A judge dismissed the one count of battery against her on Wednesday.
