(PRESS RELEASE) On Saturday, June 20, 2015, at approximately 9:30 a.m., patrol responded to an assist EMS call with a one year old child not breathing at 1810 E. 25th Street.  Detectives were also called to the scene a short time later.  EMS transported the child to UMC where he later died.  The Lubbock County Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide.

After a lengthy investigation, detectives developed enough probable cause to obtain arrest warrants for the child’s mother and her boyfriend.  Both suspects were arrested this afternoon and booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center.
