At approximately 3:49 a.m. on Sunday, May 10th, two of our patrol officers responded to a civil disturbance at Bosses, located at 1702 E. 4th Street. While on the scene, a separate incident, a fight, broke out and a couple hundred people had gathered to watch. As officers waited for backup, some unknown suspect threw a liquor bottle at Officer Christopher Johnson and struck him on his head. The officer was transported by police vehicle to UMC where he was treated and later released.
After an extensive investigation, Detectives have identified a suspect and developed enough probable cause to obtain an arrest warrant. The suspect was arrested this evening [Wednesday] and was transported to the Lubbock County Detention Facility and booked in.
