LUBBOCK, Texas — On Tuesday, a lawyer for Bart Reagor filed a response in court records after he was sued for close to $2.5 million in March.
In March, Universal Underwriters claimed Reagor signed a personal guaranty for a $4.7 million debt. Reagor Dykes filed for bankruptcy before that loan was paid off. Close to $2.5 million remains.
As part of Reagor’s response Tuesday, he raised several legal technicalities. Reagor accused Universal Underwriters of having “unclean hands,” meaning he accused the company of having a part in the bad things that happened at Reagor Dykes.
Reagor asked the judge to throw out the lawsuit and make Universal Underwriters pay for legal fees.
The lawsuit is still ongoing.
