Join Hodges Community Center as it hosts its 13th Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, April 14, 2019. Festivities begin at 3:30 p.m., with the Easter egg hunt kicking off promptly at 4:00 p.m. Before the hunt begins, families will enjoy pictures with the Easter Bunny and more. Just before 4:00 p.m., the event moves next door to the Lubbock Memorial Arboretum where thousands of eggs will be scattered throughout the Arboretum grounds Be sure to bring your Easter baskets to collect the eggs during the hunt. Kids of all ages are invited to this free community event.
Hodges Community Center is located at 4011 University Avenue. It is open Monday-Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Hodges is closed for lunch Monday-Friday from Noon – 1:00 p.m. For more information, call Stephanie Brady, Hodges Community Center, at 767-3706.
The Lubbock Memorial Arboretum is located south of Hodges Community Center at 41st Street and University Avenue. The Arboretum is open from dawn to dusk and has a wheel-chair and stroller accessible walking path that moves throughout the grounds. For more information, call 790-3921.

Bring your dogs to an Easter egg hunt just for them! Maxey Community Centers is hosting their 5th Annual Easter Egg Hunt for Pups on Sunday, April 14, 2019, at 1:30 p.m. This event is a perfect way to celebrate Easter with your furry friends. We’ve changed locations this year, and it will be held in the park by Maxey Community Center. Participants will enjoy pictures with the Easter Bunny, pet vendors, and at 2:00 p.m. there will be an Easter egg hunt for your dogs. Bring your pup dressed up in their Easter best, and you could win a prize basket for the Best Dressed Dog.
Dogs must be up-to-date on their rabies vaccination and have with them a 2019 rabies tag or certificate from a veterinarian. Dogs must be on leash, and aggressive dogs or dogs in heat are not allowed.
City of Lubbock Animal Services will be hosting a booth at this event and will be providing free microchips for dogs for Lubbock residents. Microchips are the best way to ensure that a lost pet is reunited with its owners.
