LUBBOCK, Texas – EverythingLubbock.com confirmed from a Texas Tech University spokesperson that classes are canceled after 5:00 pm Monday and all-day Tuesday.
The Texas Tech men’s basketball team will play for a national championship on Monday against Virginia in Minneapolis. It is the first-ever championship game appearance for the men’s team.
The Red Raiders defeated the Michigan State Spartans in the Final Four on Saturday night. The winner of Tech vs Virginia will be 2019 national champion.

Re: Class Cancelations
In light of the Texas Tech Men’s Basketball victory Saturday night taking them to the championship game on Monday evening, all classes scheduled after 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 8 and all day on Tuesday, April 9 are canceled. Classes will resume as scheduled on Wednesday, April 10. Academic buildings and the Library will close for entry as of 6:00 p.m. Monday and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday. Students and faculty in classes that begin prior to 5:00 p.m. Monday and continue past 6:00 p.m. will still be able to exit their buildings. Non-academic buildings will operate normally, both Monday evening and Tuesday, unless otherwise indicated.
