Ninth Judicial District Attorney Andrea Reeb announced that Bobby Saiz, age 45 of Clovis, was found guilty by a Curry County jury of Conspiracy to Trafficking Controlled Substances, a third degree felony. The Curry County jury heard the case Wednesday, February 24, 2016. In July of 2014, Saiz was involved in an undercover sale of methamphetamine during a Region V Drug Task Force operation.
The Honorable Drew D. Tatum presided over the one-day trial and Assistant District Attorney Rebecca A. Ralph prosecuted the case for the State of New Mexico. Assistant Public Defender Sarah Field represented the defendant.
Judge Tatum sentenced Saiz to two years in the New Mexico Department of Corrections and recommended he participate in a drug rehab program while incarcerated.
