This ridge of high pressure is going to get pretty strong by the end of the week. Expect Thursday to be the warmest day of the year, really. There will be plenty of sunshine & blue skies. The wind will be the only bummer during the day. It will be at 15-20 mph all afternoon. Lubbock is going to see a high of 85°. We may even see highs in the low 90s in the Rolling Plains! The record high is 83°, so it looks like we will break that!
The heat will stick around on Friday, as well. There may be a few clouds in the area, but it will still be mostly sunny. Highs will be right around 80° for Lubbock & west. We will still see highs in the mid & upper 80s for the Rolling Plains. The ridge will finally begins to break down over the weekend, thanks to a strong cold front coming in on Sunday.
