The Amarillo Sandies traveled to Lubbock Friday night to take on the Coronado Mustangs.
Both teams started strong and by half time were within a few scores of each other, but in the second half Coronado came out swinging. The Stangs quickly pulled ahead two scores after the Sandies knocked one in early in the 3rd. Coronado kept their pace up in the second half putting down two more shots and going on a 8-0 run to pull ahead 42-34.
The Mustangs kept up their aggressive play into the fourth and finally took down the Sandies 67-53.
Coronado goes on to play Monterey on the road Tuesday.
