Ohio researchers have developed a simple test to diagnose preeclampsia. Doctors said the biochemical test examines urine samples and has 86% accuracy. Women with preeclampsia develop high blood pressure and protein in the urine, which can lead to deadly complications for mom and baby.
A booster vaccine that teenagers get to protect against whopping cough loses its effectiveness after a year, according to researchers at Kaiser Permanente. They looked at 1,200 cases of whopping cough. They found the Tdap vaccine provided little protection two or three years after vaccination.
