A Nolan County Sheriff’s Deputy thwarted a theft attempt while getting a tank of gas and a soft drink.
The deputy was stopped at an Allsups convenience store on Broadway Boulevard in Sweetwater Friday afternoon when the incident took place, according to the Nolan County Sheriff’s Department. While inside the location, the officer approached a suspicious subject who fled as she attempted to make contact.
A short foot chase ended when officers apprehended the suspect as he attempted to get away in a vehicle parked outside.
The suspect has been identified as Louis Castillo, 42. He was arrested on scene along with the driver of the get-away car, Arnulfo Castillo, 37. Both are currently being held inside the Nolan County Jail.
