The teams picked to finish 1st and 2nd in district went head to head Tuesday night as Muleshoe traveled to Shallowater.
The Mustangs started hot getting a fast 10-4 lead. A few fouls and a three would keep the Mules in the game early. The teams battled back and forth in the close fought game, but the Mules came out on top 38-36.
The Mustangs travel to Friona Friday night for their next game.
Muleshoe goes on to face Dimmit on the Friday.
