Richard Aubrey Lee, age not listed, of Lubbock pleaded guilty Monday to filing a false tax return.
Lee was arrested in May and according to his indictment he cheated the government out of $107,573 in the 2008 tax year, $87,583 in the 2009 tax year, and $37,352 in the 2010 tax year.
Those amounts add up to more than $230,000.
Court records said, “Less admits that he knew that his false statements concerning his total income for tax years 2008, 2009, and 2010 were false and that he made these statements willfully, that is, with intent to violate a known legal duty.”
Lee will be sentenced at a later date to no more than three years for each count, and he admitted three counts.
