SAN JOSE, Ca. (VIRGINIAFIRST) — 15-year-old Max Bonstetter is just like the rest of the veteran journalists covering the NCAA Tournament in San Jose, California. If fact, the SI for Kids sports journalist is covering his 4th March Madness.
Believe it or not, he got started in the sports journalism business at the age of 11.
“I went into sports journalism because I love sports, and I always thought it would be awesome to be surrounded by the best athletes in the world is awesome. At the age of 11, it was an opportunity to be a sports journalist. And I wrote and article for SI for Kids and I go chosen out of no where. In what ever I do, I do my best. It is amazing. I had the time of my life doing it,“ said Bonnstetter.
Bonnstetter has been in the national spotlight before. He was a guest on the Tonight Show and got a chance to interview Kobe Bryant.
The teen says as he gets older he wants to stay in sports journalism as a sideline reporter or on air commentator.
Just as long as it is sports related, he is happy to be part of the business.
