Two Muleshoe children were killed in a car accident on Interstate 20 outside of Eastland on Saturday around 7:40 p.m.

According to the Department of Public Safety, Victoria Lopez, 9, and Rey David Lopez, 10, were the two children that died in the one vehicle crash. Neither were wearing a seat belt. 

Erica Olvera, 57, and Cassandra Lopez, 13, are in stable condition following the accident, according to DPS. 

DPS said Olvera, a woman from Las Vegas, was driving when the car veered into the center median striking the safety cable and the two children were ejected from the back of the car. Both Olvera and Cassandra were wearing seat belts in the front of the car. 

DPS said the crash is under investigation.
