The Rotary Club of Metropolitan Lubbock and Prosperity Bank are proud to co-host the 16th annual “Unsung Heroes Award Recognition Ceremony” on Thursday, March 7th from 5:30 – 7:30 PM at the Prosperity Bank Conference Center, 1501 Ave Q in Lubbock. An EMS employee, Firefighter, Police Officer, TX DPS Officer, and Sheriff Deputy will be honored as the 2018 Unsung Heroes of Lubbock for their sacrifice, dedication and willingness to risk their lives in making Lubbock a safe place to live. Their peers in their respective organizations have selected each Honoree.
Lubbock County District Attorney K. Sunshine Stanek will be the guest speaker and Jeff Bailey will provide the music. The idea of this event arose after the horrific event of 9/11/01 and the heroic actions of the First Responders in New York City. The Unsung Heroes Award Ceremony provides all the citizens of Lubbock an opportunity to express in a small way their thanks and gratitude for the sacrifices that Lubbock’ First Responders exhibit every day.
