Lubbock Police responded to the 2400 block of Avenue X for the call of a domestic disturbance. The original call came in about 9:00 a.m. Thursday, police said.
A resident of the neighborhood indicated that things escalated just before 11:00 a.m. She said police had guns drawn on a house and were not letting people out of their houses.
A SWAT team showed up a few minutes after 11:00 a.m.
At about 1:15 p.m., police “de-escalated” the situation. Police said two people were inside, and one left voluntarily. After that, police determined there was no further threat, and the SWAT team left.
As for any later criminal charges, police said the situation was still under investigation. Names were not released.
