Tonight temperatures will drop well below freezing which will be a concern for travel. Some isolated showers will develop overnight, especially east of Lubbock. However, with temperatures dropping into the 20s freezing rain will be a big travel problem. If you’re heading out to morning services tomorrow be extra careful. Roads where rain has fallen will be very slick. If you can avoid morning travel I would highly recommend it. A glaze of ice is possible. A few flurries may fly to the north but most of us look to have a freezing rain event.
After the morning hours, everything looks to clear out by the afternoon hours leaving behind a few clouds. High temperatures tomorrow will only get up into the mid 30s and with the wind tomorrow out of the northeast at 10-15 mph it’ll feel more like the upper 20s to lower 30s. Unfortunately, temperatures by the beginning of the workweek will be much colder. High temperatures on Monday will be in the upper 20s to lower 30s with a few flurries possible.
If you’re looking for a warm up it comes mid week when temperatures sky rocket into the upper 50s by Wednesday and by Thursday temperatures rise back into the mid 70s.
