Happy FINALLY Friday everyone! The cold front arrived today bringing some very cold air to the South Plains and some snow showers to the northwestern corner of the region. High temperatures will stay in the mid-30’s on Saturday with lows sitting in the teens and twenties for the the next week. That means that it is imperative to bring pets and potted plants indoors to make sure they stay safe and to turn sprinklers off to prevent ice buildup on the roadways. We will see a small chance for snow late tonight and into tomorrow morning. Snow totals are expected to be 1-3” in the northwestern South Plains with totals decreasing the farther south and east you go. Lubbock county is looking at totals of 1 inch or less at this time. After the snow, temperatures will warm up and sunshine will return with another cool down and chance for wintry precipitation for the first day of the new year!
