On Thursday, Major League Baseball confirmed in a statement on Twitter that it will be suspending spring training and delaying the start of the regular season by at least two weeks due to the national emergency created by the coronavirus.
According to their statement, they will continue to evaluate information leading up to the start of the season. They said they are preparing a variety of contingency plans regarding the 2020 regular season schedule.
