Almost exactly five years since she disappeared, the search for Zoe Campos has finally come to an end. The organization, The Voice of the Missing, has been putting up fliers of Zoe since she went missing in 2013. On Sunday, the founder said they feel relief, but also a lot of heart ache.
An update in the case happened after police begun searching for new evidence in a backyard at a house in central Lubbock. On Friday, police found human remains but have not confirmed if the body is Zoe. Hours after finding the remains, police charged 25-year-old Carlos Rodriquez with her murder.

Voice of the Missing encourages the public to focus on Zoe’s memory, instead of what happened to her.
“To me, when I think of Zoe, I think of purple,” said Voice of the Missing founder, Nina Valdez. “I want to light the sky up with purple.”
The Campos family posted on social media on Sunday, thanking the community for its support.
That letter saying in part: “We are now left with the pieces and not sure how to move forward, the grief is overwhelming, and the anger is consuming. Our Zoe is gone, but she’s home.”
The Lubbock Police department is expected to hold a press conference sometime this week to address the investigation in more detail.
