Lubbock Christian University was able to keep several streaks intact Tuesday night in a thrilling five-set 3-2 victory over Texas-Permian Basin inside Rip Griffin Center. The non-conference victory extended LCU’s win streak to 10 straight matches and they have now won 15 consecutive matches all-time over UTPB. The Lady Chaps first fie-set win of the season witnessed four Lady Chaps eclipse double figures in kills, led by a 15-kill performance from Avery Moore, who also had nine digs and four blocks. Bradi Marshall provided a season and career high with 59 assists on LCU’s 64 kills. UTPB was highlighted with a 17-kill effort from Skyler Friel, who had a .548 attack mark (no errors on 31 attempts). They also received 37 digs from Sarah Vasquez and a double-double from Analise Lucio (41 assists, 16 digs).
LCU will now hit the road for a four-match road trip and will not return to the Rip Griffin Center until Oct. 25. Their trip begins Thursday in Fort Smith, Ark., where UAFS (Arkansas – Fort Smith) awaits for a 6 p.m. opening serve. LCU is 0-7 all-time at UAFS.
