The following is a news release from the Lubbock Police Department:
Starting this week, the Lubbock Police Department will begin deploying the Mobile Command Center to various neighborhoods in an effort to address issues and concerns specific to those areas. These deployments will kick off at the Briercroft Shopping center with multiple patrol officers, investigators and command staff stationed at the Mobile Command Center.
Each neighborhood is different with their own unique characteristics. These deployments will allow community members to meet their officers who patrol that area and voice any concerns they may have specific to their neighborhood.
Conveniently stationed within the neighborhood, the Mobile Command Center will provide easy access to those community members as our officers strive to connect with the people they serve.
This Tuesday, August 21st through Thursday, August 23rd, the command center will be at the Briercroft Shopping Center located at 5302 Avenue Q from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Patrol officers will also be there periodically throughout the night and early morning hours. This will be the first of many neighborhood deployments, and additional locations will be scheduled throughout the year.
LPD encourages anyone with questions, concerns, or just a desire to meet their local officers, to swing by the command center.
