The victim from the stabbing at the Loft Apartments said he’s recovering slowly, but Joshua Rosales added he still has a lot of healing to go. He said everything happened right outside of his apartment.
“To be honest with you, I thought I was going to go. Even the doctors told me that,” said Rosales.

He said he was stabbed several times, and police said the stabbing happened after a fight between him and a neighbor Wednesday.
He said his neighbor started arguing with him and instigated a fight he didn’t want to be in.
“It started getting more violent he started cussing so I started cussing. I saw him lift up his shirt and he’s ‘Well what do you want to do’ and he had a knife on him,” Rosales said.
Rosales said his neighbor and another man started hitting him, and then at one point in the fight, someone stabbed him.
“I was just trying to hurry up and get him off of me. The other guy got back up and all I felt was like boom boom boom. Just three hard hits. Boom and it felt a lot harder than what an actually hit felt like,” he said.
Rosales said he always had a problem with his neighbor, but he never thought it would get this far. “The guy got on top of me and he kept telling me. He was choking me and he wouldn’t stop. He kept telling me. You’re going to die today. You’re going to die today,” he said.
The suspect told police Joshua had a gun, but Rosales told me he never had his gun in the fight.
“Yeah I have a gun in my house. This is my protection. It was not outside in the crime scene. It did not have any sorts of blood on it,” said Rosales.
Another neighbor helped put pressure on the stab wounds and Rosales said if it wasn’t for him, he might not be here today.
“I thought I was going to go. Even the doctors told me that. They told me there was two ways I could have died. One was because if (another neighbor) wasn’t there..I probably would have went, but he helped me out and the next one was because it was so close to my lungs. The stabbing. That was the next one. So blessed,” said Rosales.
