Lubbock Fire Rescue was called to the report of a house fire in the 1800 block of East Brown Street.  The call came in Friday at 5:16 p.m.

Two adults and two kids were displaced by the fire.  

LFR released the following statement:

At 5:16 p.m. this afternoon units from LFR responded to 1809 E. Brown on a reported structure fire. Engine 2 reported on scene and nothing showing. Upon entering the residence, the crew reported smoke conditions present. Upon investigation crews found a portion of a bedroom on fire. The fire was quickly contained and extinguished. The cause of the fire was determined to be an electrical fire in a window unit air conditioner which caught a bed on fire. Two adults and two children were displaced from the home and Red Cross was assisting the family.
