A viral video of a man dancing in the Hub City now has half a million views on Facebook. 20-year-old Joshua Montoya, or “Josh from Walmart”, said he saw the In My Feelings Dance Challenge circulating social media and he decided to give it a try.

“I just wanted to put smiles on everybody’s faces by dance moves and by everything. I wanted to be some kind of Walmart icon,” said Montoya.

He’s light on his feet and isn’t afraid to show off his dance moves.

“I started dancing when I was younger and I was back in dance crews and then I just faded off and did my own thing. Still do my sports. Boxing. I sing,” Montoya said.

He said he didn’t expect to get so much attention.

“When I saw it on twitter getting millions of views. Retweeted from other famous pages which would make funny memes about me. It was crazy,” he said, “I stayed with dancing. Learning new dances. Whatever. I love it. I love music.”

He said ever since his video started getting thousands of views, people shopping at Walmart have recognized him as “Josh from Walmart.” He said he was just trying to be funny, but he’s happy he’s making thousands of people laugh.

“This is what I’ve always wanted and it’s just like.. It’s happening right now and it was just tripping me out. It’s still tripping me out really. Just making me think, ‘Wow, I want to put Lubbock on the map,'” Montoya said.

He said he’s making a second video this Saturday. You can find his In My Feelings Dance Challenge video here
