2,000 customers still without power, at least 50 poles broken

LUBBOCK, Texas — Friday morning, 2,000 Lubbock residents were still without power, according to a tweet from Lubbock Power and Light.

Storms from Thursday night packing 77 mph winds broke at least 50 poles, LP&L said.

LP&L said they were able to restore power to another thousand customers, and the reason for the delay in power restoration is due to the snapped poles.

Crews were able to restore power to another thousand customers which leaves the count of those remaining without power at 2,000. 77 mph wind gusts with the storm broke at least 50 poles across the city which is the reason for the delayed restoration in some areas.
