David Rey Ybarra, 23, was booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center on Feb. 18, 2016.  He was charged for aggravated robbery after a video went viral on Facebook.  The video showed what appeared to be two men and one juvenile in Maxey Park beating a male teenager, and then assaulting a pregnant woman.

In early February, Ybarra’s father, James Ybarra, 41, and a juvenile male were arrested for the same charge related to the same incident.  James Ybarra was not listed in jail records Thursday and might have posted bond to get out of jail.

In addition to the robbery charge, David Ybarra was held in the Lubbock County Detention Center for sexual assault of a child.  The charge dates back to 2010 and Ybarra was put on probation.  However, court records said he failed to report as a sex offender and failed to pay his court fees, so he was sentenced to three years in prison.

Once getting out of prison he did register as a sex offender.

More recently he was accused of still not paying the court fees, so a warrant was issued for his arrest.  That’s in addition to the aggravated robbery charge.

Ybarra was held Thursday morning on a $50,000 bond for the robbery charge, and $615 for the court fees he had not yet paid.
