It sure was nice to see more rain across the region last night. The down side was obviously the flooding that occurred in a few counties. Lubbock officially came in with .27″ of rain at the airport. Texas Tech received .31″. That will help now that we’re in July, but the yearly deficit is still nearly six inches. This afternoon is going to be partly sunny, with an isolated storm to the west and a high temperature of 97°.

Overnight, we’ll still see more clouds around with some isolated thunderstorms moving east across the area. Coverage is still looking to be 10%. Tomorrow will be a dry day, with mostly sunny skies. The warm air is going to stay around, as we will make it to a high temperature of 98°. Wind is going to be at 10-15 mph on Tuesday, with dry weather returning thanks to high pressure.
