Texas Tech University has been granted the Award of Excellence in Procurement by the National Association of Educational Procurement (NAEP) in recognition of the Procurement Service Department’s contribution to the university’s mission.

The award was presented at a ceremony during the association’s 2018 Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida, Texas Tech was represented by chief procurement officer Jennifer Adling; assistant managing director Brandon Harper; purchasing manager Cathy Clifford; and contract specialist Holley Owens.

“It is a great honor for Texas Tech Procurement Services to be recognized by our peers in higher education,” Adling said. “This the first department award we have received and it validates the diligent work, collaboration and innovation the Procurement Services staff has accomplished over the years.” 

The NAEP’s mission is to facilitate the development, exchange and practice of effective and ethical procurement principles and techniques within higher education and associated communities through continuing education, networking, public information and advocacy. NAEP strives to be recognized as the association dedicated to the advancement of excellence in the purchasing profession serving higher education and associated communities.

“This award provides well-deserved recognition for Texas Tech University and our Procurement Services team for advancements made in procurement technology utilization and contract management practices that create efficiencies and cost savings for the institution,” said Noel Sloan, Texas Tech chief financial officer and vice president of administration and finance.”
