Big things coming for the City of Lubbock Animal Shelter as staffers make room for renovations. They’re having free adoptions all month to prepare for these changes.
They want to keep the pets that come into their shelter healthy. One way they plan to do that is by re-doing their stray area with epoxy flooring. That means if they get a sick cat or dog, the disease won’t absorb into the flooring material. They say this will make the shelter cleaner.
“It kind of repels it and that’s what we’re doing right now. This month we’re working on that. Making a huge improvement back there and then we’re going to switch it and the larger room will now be out adoption adventure room,” said Kia Riemath with the Lubbock Animal Shelter.
The free adoptions will go on until the end of June. They have their Furry 500 this Saturday at 10 a.m. You can find those details here.
