Thirty one emaciated horses were seized from Eastland County Wednesday.
A group called Rescue the Animals, SPCA provided information to KTAB and KRBC in Abilene. The group said horses were removed from a property near Desdemona after the Eastland County Sheriff’s Office received a tip about their malnourished condition.
The horses were found living without adequate shelter or water, and a boneyard full of horse remains was also located on the property.
The Humane Society of North Texas relocated the horses to a secure facility, where they will begin rehabilitation.
KTAB and KRBC reached out to the Eastland County Sheriff’s Office to see if any criminal charges will be sought.
