Good afternoon everyone! Hot and sunny conditions have stuck around for Memorial Day with highs back in the triple digits yet again. The dry line is set up to our West this afternoon right along the Texas/New Mexico border with a cold front set up to our Northwest. This will bring us our next chance for some turbulent weather on the South Plains this afternoon and this evening. The Storm Prediction Center has placed the Northern portions of the region under the Slight and Marginal Risk categories for strong to severe storms. Biggest threats will be large hail, damaging wind gusts, and an isolated tornado threat. Temperatures will remain in the triple digits for the next five days with abundant sunshine across the region. That means it is imperative to wear sunscreen, stay hydrated, and take breaks indoors during peak heating hours. Also, make sure to bring your pets inside during those peak heating hours and keep them hydrated as well.
