We finally got some of those thunderstorms to cross the state line yesterday evening, but they did not hang on for too long. As expected, they broke apart just over Lubbock and the central counties. Today will see even less of a shot of a thunderstorm in the area. Coverage will barely be 10%. Otherwise, we’ll get mostly sunny skies, with warmer air and 10-15 mph wind. The high temperature in Lubbock will make it to 91°.
Overnight, expect to see partly cloudy skies. A few storms, if they do get going this evening, will try to hang on. But, don’t expect much from any storm today. Unfortunately, coverage of these storms will be very low. The low is going to drop down to 66° by morning. Friday is going to really start the warm up as we move into the Memorial Day weekend. It will be sunny with a high of 97° in Lubbock.
