The draws for the NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships have been set. Competition will begin on tomorrow at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex.

Senior No. 21 Gabriela Talaba is set to face No. 73 Petra Melounova of Hawaii in the first round of play. The winner will move on to the Round of 32 to face the winner between No. 15 Michaela Gordon (Stanford) and No. 72 Fatima Bizhukova (Wichita State) on Thursday.

Talaba closed out the team season with a 15-8 overall record. She defeated No. 1 Bianca Turati (Texas) in the Sweet 16, marking the highest ranked win in school history.

Junior No. 58 Felicity Maltby qualified for the singles championships for the second straight season. She is set to face No. 61 Maria Kononova of North Texas in the first round.

The winner will face No. 60 Kenya Jones (Georgia Tech) or No. 8 Fernanda Contreras (Vanderbilt) on Thursday in the Round of 32.

Talaba and Maltby advanced to the Round of 32 in last season’s singles championship.

Doubles pair No. 28 Sabrina Federici and Sarah Dvorak will meet No. 6 Samantha Harris and Kelly Chen of Duke in the opening round. The two teams did not face each other during doubles play in the Elite Eight match up. Harris and Chen fell to Maltby and Talaba while Federici and Dvorak took down Duke’s McCarthy and Hamlin.

The winner will move on to the Round of 16 to face either No. 27 Kobayashi/Wong (Washington) or No. 26 Gould/Jokic (Georgia).
