The Texas Tech Alumni Association (TTAA) is beginning the search for a new CEO to succeed the organization’s longest serving President and CEO, Bill F. Dean, Ph.D., who announced his intent to retire at the end of 2018.

The TTAA CEO leads a dynamic team and is responsible for the leadership and management of the association and fiscal affairs of the organization. The CEO has the responsibility to develop and implement policies, goals and objectives that align with the association’s strategic plan. The CEO oversees all programs and staff to ensure alignment with the strategic plan. Additional primary functions include administrative and financial management, program and staff evaluation, and maintaining a communications program with the association’s membership and constituents within the Texas Tech University (TTU) community. The association has more than 70 active chapters, 31,000 members worldwide and celebrated its 90th anniversary in 2017. The CEO also serves as the liaison for the Alumni Association’s National Board of Directors. The CEO will be ethical and beyond reproach, and always operate the association in an ethical manner.

Members of the TTAA National Board of Directors, TTU and the TTU System have been appointed to assist in the CEO search. The members of the search committee include:

  • Kristina Butts ’01,’04 – Texas Tech Alumni Association National Board Immediate Past Chair
  • Barry Street ’79 – Texas Tech Alumni Association National Board Chair-Elect
  • Bill Brown ’74, ’76 – Texas Tech Alumni Association Endowment Trust Representative
  • Chris Cook ’12 – Texas Tech Alumni Association National Board Ex-Officio, President’s Office Representative, TTU
  • Patrick Kramer – Texas Tech Alumni Association National Board Ex-Officio, Institutional Advancement, TTUS
  • Andrea Tirey ’03, ’10 – Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development, TTUS

Over the next several months, the committee will review applications and conduct interviews. The search committee will accept applications until the position is filled and will begin reviewing the applications immediately.
