Tyler Perry’s new movie comes out this weekend. Acrimony stars Taraji P. Henson, who is forsaken by her husband of 18 years. It’s just as much an intense thriller as it is a melodrama; a well-wrapped conflict of love and vengeance. It’s rated R and runs two hours. Binge on betrayal at the Alamo Drafthouse, Premiere or Tinseltown.

The 76th annual ABC Pro Rodeo is this weekend at the Coliseum. There are competitions Friday night at 7:30, Saturday afternoon at 1:30, and Saturday night at 7:30. It’s a PRCA sanctioned event and benefits AMBUCS. You can get your $12 general admission tickets at the door. Depending on how the city-wide vote goes, this could be their last go-’round in the Coliseum.

Better get your tickets now to next weekend’s Ballet Lubbock presentation, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The classic Shakespearean comedy gets a twist with far fewer words and a change of finale. Its great fun for the whole family, and Ballet Lubbock raises the “barre” with this one. It’s next weekend and you can get your $20 to $50 tickets through Select-a-Seat.

Steven Spielberg wants to suck you into to a virtual world with Ready Player One. Just like this year, people in the year 2045 escape reality in the OASIS, where you’re only limited by your imagination. Its creator announces something of a treasure hunt, and one unlikely hero finds himself and his team in a fight… not only for OASIS but for the real world, as well! It’s rated PG-13 and runs almost two-and-a-half hours. Help save this or that world at the Alamo Drafthouse and everywhere else.
