As we move into the first weekend of March, expect much warmer air and more dry conditions. We did get a trace or precipitation in Lubbock on Wednesday, but that will obviously not help us out in the fight against the drought. The morning will only get a low of 41°. The rest of the day will see mostly sunny skies, with wind at 10-15 mph from the south. We’ll reach a high temperature of 72°.
By Sunday, that wind is going to shift to the southwest and increase. It will be sustained at 20-25 mph, with gusts to 35 mph at times. That will be the downside to Sunday, especially if you want to get outside. The air will be warmer than what we saw on Saturday, as we reach a high temperature of 75°. The next storm system comes in Sunday night and will drop highs by Monday.
