A Hereford ISD student was taken into custody and was charged with making a terroristic threat on Snapchat against an HISD campus, according to Chief Brent Harrison.
Around 1:30 p.m. February 14, the Hereford Police Department received a phone call from the Federal Bureau of Investigation reporting a possible threat made against a Hereford ISD campus.
According to Chief Brent Harrison, Snapchat made a report to the FBI that a possible student at Hereford High School was planning a shooting incident.
Hereford Police officers and staff and security from Hereford ISD responded to the campus and determined the student in question was not on the campus.
Police said they located the 15-year-old female student at her residence.
Officials told us further investigation substantiated the initial complaint.
Chief Harrison said the student was taken into custody and later transported to the Youth Center of the High Plains on a charge of making a terroristic threat, a third-degree felony.
This incident is still under investigation.
