Happy Friday everyone! We have had a much warmer day across the South Plains with highs moving into the upper 70’s and low 80’s and abundant sunshine across the region. This slow warming trend will sadly end today with our next cold front progged to slide across the region late tonight. This will bring a drastic drop in temperatures with highs plummeting into the low 40’s on Saturday and Sunday. Lows will also drop back below the freezing mark which means it is important to bring your pets and potted plants indoors and make sure to turn your sprinklers off to prevent a multitude of issues on the roadways. Cloud cover will increase on Sunday with breezy conditions expected. Then beginning on Monday, temperatures will begin to climb and sunshine will return. We will move back into the 70’s by Wednesday with another front expected to arrive that evening. We are watching for our first potential chance for rain in over a month during the second half of next week so make sure to stay tuned for updates!
