Happy Thursday everyone! We have had a much warmer day across the South Plains with highs moving into the mid-60’s and abundant sunshine across the region. The slow warming trend will continue for one more day with highs moving into the mid to upper 70’s tomorrow afternoon. Then as we move into the weekend, we watch for quite the cool down as our next cold front slides across the area. Temperatures will drop back below average into the low to mid-40’s for your highs on Saturday and Sunday so make sure to keep your coats handy. Low temperatures will drop yet again below freezing over the weekend so make sure to bring your pets and potted plants indoors and make sure to turn your sprinklers off to prevent a multitude of issues on the roadways. Cloud cover will increase on Sunday with windy conditions expected, but sadly we will remain dry. Temperatures will rebound back above average and sunshine will return by Monday afternoon but we are watching for our first potential chance for rain in over a month during the second half of next week so make sure to stay tuned for updates!
